Chelsea Conquer Conference League: They ran over us in the second half- Real Betis’ Isco

Real Betis suffered a heavy defeat in the Conference League final. They lost 4-1 to Chelsea after a strong first half. Captain Isco and coach Manuel Pellegrini reflected on the match.

Betis led at halftime, dominating Chelsea. However, they struggled in the second half as Chelsea fought back. Isco noted that mistakes were costly in such an important game.

"We had a good first half," Isco said. "They barely had any chances." He added that they failed to capitalize on their lead. "In a European final, mistakes are very punishing."

Abde Ezzalzouli scored for Betis with an assist from Isco. In the second half, Chelsea took control of the game. Cole Palmer played a key role for Chelsea, who scored four goals.

Isco admitted they became too defensive after taking the lead. "We sat too deep," he said about their strategy. He acknowledged Chelsea's quality and power.

"It’s a heavy defeat after our first-half performance," he stated. Pellegrini agreed that the score did not reflect the teams' abilities.

Despite this loss, Betis will play in next season's Europa League after finishing sixth in La Liga.
