Chelsea, Newcastle United remember Christian Atsu on second anniversary of passing

Chelsea, Newcastle United, and the Ghana Football Association have paid tribute to Christian Atsu on the second anniversary of his passing.

The former Ghana international tragically died in the February 6, 2023, earthquake in Turkey, with his body recovered nearly two weeks later.

Chelsea, where Atsu spent four years, honored him, stating, “Our thoughts continue to remain with Christian's family and friends.”

Newcastle United, where he became a fan favorite, also paid tribute, saying, “Our thoughts are forever with his family and friends. Rest in paradise, Christian.”

The GFA remembered his contributions, posting, “His kindness, talent, and dedication to Ghana football will never be forgotten.” Atsu’s legacy continues to be cherished by fans and clubs alike.
