Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to re-sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, who has excelled since leaving Stamford Bridge in 2021.
Guehi, now one of the Premier League's top centre-backs, played a key role for England at Euro 2024. Chelsea’s interest comes amid ongoing injury problems with Wesley Fofana. Palace, wanting to retain Guehi, could face a dilemma as his contract runs until 2026. Last summer, they reportedly sought £70m, but this could drop given Guehi’s contract situation.
Chelsea might offer Trevoh Chalobah, currently on loan at Palace, but Palace prefers cash. However, Chelsea’s sell-on clause and Guehi’s high salary demands could complicate the deal. There is also speculation that Chalobah could be recalled to strengthen the defense.
