Chelsea contacted over late Ben Chilwell loan exit

Crystal Palace have approached Chelsea about a potential loan move for Ben Chilwell after the 28-year-old has been sidelined at Stamford Bridge.

Under manager Enzo Maresca, Chilwell has not featured in Premier League matchdays, with Marc Cucurella, Reece James, Malo Gusto, and Renato Veiga preferred at left-back. Chilwell’s only appearance this season was a 45-minute stint against League Two Barrow in the Carabao Cup. Maresca had advised him in August to leave for more playing time.

Palace, who have improved under manager Oliver Glasner, see Chilwell as a strong addition to challenge Tyrick Mitchell in their wing-back system. Discussions between Palace and Chilwell’s representatives have begun, but no deal is imminent.
