Chelsea leading the chase to sign Kobbie Mainoo if he leaves Manchester United

Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, whose contract talks with the club have stalled.

The 19-year-old, whose current deal runs until 2027, is seeking a new contract reflecting his role as a first-team player and England international.

Financial constraints at United, including a need to offload high earners like Casemiro and Marcus Rashford, have hindered negotiations.

Mainoo, aware of better offers elsewhere, is also concerned about United’s poor form and their chances of securing Champions League football.

Despite a slow start this season, Mainoo remains a highly regarded young talent. His potential departure would be a major loss for United.
