Enzo Maresca's changes helped Chelsea win the Conference League. They dominated Betis with a 4-1 victory in Wroclaw.
Chelsea struggled for the first 45 minutes. They were behind at halftime after Isco assisted Abde Ezzalzouli. Ezzalzouli scored the opener just nine minutes in.
Malo Gusto was substituted at halftime, making way for Reece James. This change was crucial as James led Chelsea's tactical shift in the second half.
Cole Palmer played a more free role after the break. He shone when Betis left-back Ricardo Rodriguez was injured and substituted. Palmer delivered a player-of-the-match performance that inspired Chelsea's comeback.
In the 65th minute, Enzo Fernandez scored with a glancing header from a cross. Just five minutes later, Palmer curled in another assist for Nicolas Jackson, who scored with his upper arm.
With Chelsea now dominating, they maintained their intensity throughout the match. Two substitutes linked up to secure victory late on.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall intercepted a throw and passed to Jadon Sancho. Sancho cut inside and bent an unstoppable shot into the far corner.
By this point, Chelsea knew they had won the trophy. They were determined not to let Betis off easily.
Moises Caicedo added a fourth goal in injury time from outside the box. This victory made Chelsea the first club to win all three major European trophies. They also became the first foreign team to defeat a Spanish side in a European final since 2001.
