Conference League: Chelsea dispatch Djurgarden to set up final against Real Betis

Chelsea secured a spot in the Conference League final. They achieved this with a comfortable semi-final win against Djurgarden at Stamford Bridge.

Despite making 10 changes from their recent victory over Liverpool, Chelsea performed well. They handed a first senior start to 16-year-old Reggie Walsh. The Blues won the tie with a 5-1 aggregate score against the Swedish team.

Chelsea will face Real Betis in the final on May 28. This match will take place in Wroclaw, Poland. Last week, Chelsea won the first leg in Sweden 4-1.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored for Chelsea after being set up by Tyrique George. The Djurgarden fans were loud throughout the match, but Chelsea held on for victory. They brought on two 17-year-olds, Shim Mheuka and Genesis Antwi, in the second half.

This will be Chelsea's eighth European final and their first since winning the Champions League in 2021. For coach Enzo Maresca, it’s an opportunity to win his first trophy with Chelsea. It would also mark a significant achievement for the club post-Roman Abramovich era.
