Inter secured a 2-0 victory over Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, setting up a semi-final clash with city rivals Milan.
Marko Arnautovic opened the scoring with a stunning volley just before halftime, while Hakan Calhanoglu sealed the win with a second-half penalty.
Lazio created several chances, with Gustav Isaksen testing Inter’s second-choice goalkeeper Josep Martinez multiple times, but the shot-stopper made crucial saves.
Matteo Darmian suffered a muscle injury early in the game and was replaced by Denzel Dumfries. Lazio made attacking substitutions but failed to break through Inter’s defense.
With this win, Inter remains the only Serie A team still competing in three competitions.
The Derby della Madonnina semi-final promises to be an exciting battle in the coming months.
