Matheus Cunha has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers, keeping him at the club until 2029.
The Brazilian forward, who scored in Wolves' 2-0 win over Aston Villa, had been linked with moves to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest but opted to stay. Cunha, who reached 25 Premier League goals with his strike against Villa, is the club’s top scorer this season with 11 goals and 4 assists.
Wolves' chairman Jeff Shi praised Cunha for his leadership both on and off the field, describing him as an integral part of the team. Cunha's decision to remain at Wolves is seen as a significant boost for the club as they fight to avoid relegation.
