Former GFA Executive Council Member Kweku Ayiah has criticized DCOP Lydia Donkor for her remarks on the investigation into Francis Frimpong Pooley’s tragic death.
Pooley was fatally stabbed during Asante Kotoko’s league match against Nsoatreman FC, raising concerns about stadium security.
Ayiah believes Donkor, who chairs the GFA’s Safety and Security Committee, should have refrained from commenting on the case.
Her statement that the stabbing "did not happen in the stadium" was seen as defending law enforcement, sparking backlash from Kotoko officials.
In response, Ayiah urged caution in public statements, emphasizing safety as a priority for all clubs. The GFA has suspended league activities and is engaging clubs to improve security measures and prevent future violence.
