Bournemouth forward Dango Ouattara has emphasized that his faith takes precedence over football, especially as Ramadan comes to a close.
The 23-year-old Burkinabé international, a devout Muslim, prays five times daily and before and after every match, believing it keeps him humble and focused.
"It allows us to refocus, recognize our strengths and weaknesses, and correct ourselves in society," Ouattara told BBC Sport Africa at his local mosque in Poole.
Describing Islam as a source of calm and stability, he credits his faith with guiding his interactions on and off the pitch.
"Faith helps me overcome challenges, respect others, and stay composed in daily life. You have to believe before you can achieve something," he added.
