David Moyes in line for Everton return after Dyche sacked

David Moyes is close to returning to Everton after discussions with the club's new owners, who sacked manager Sean Dyche on Thursday.

Moyes, who previously managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, has been out of work since leaving West Ham at the end of last season. Despite initial speculation linking Jose Mourinho to the role, sources indicate that he is not a candidate at this stage.

Everton, under new ownership since December, parted ways with Dyche after a poor run of results left the club near the relegation zone. Moyes, with his experience and Premier League credentials, is now the preferred choice to lead the team, with Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman temporarily taking charge.
