Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to give Everton a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, delivering a major setback to the hosts' Champions League ambitions.
With the match seemingly destined for a goalless draw, substitute Dwight McNeil teed up Doucoure, who coolly finished in the 94th minute.
Despite Forest’s strong season under Nuno Espirito Santo, the loss—combined with wins by Manchester City and Aston Villa—dropped them out of the Premier League’s top three.
In sweltering conditions, both teams had chances but failed to convert, with James Garner and Iliman Ndiaye testing Matz Sels, while Jota Silva and Callum Hudson-Odoi saw efforts denied by Jordan Pickford.
Everton’s late counter-attack goal lifted them to 14th place, leaving Forest stunned and searching for answers.
