Dr. Kwame Kyei: 'Pooley's death hasn't thought us any lesson'

Nations FC owner, Dr. Kwame Kyei, expressed regret about joining Ghana football. His feelings stem from a recent match against Basake Holy Stars.

The game at Crossby Awuah Memorial Park ended abruptly. Nations FC walked off the pitch while trailing 1-0. They cited poor officiating as their reason for leaving.

Nations FC felt cheated during the match. They were upset after Basake Holy Stars received a second penalty just before halftime.

In their statement, Nations mentioned poor officiating and inadequate security as concerns. They hope the Ghana FA will address these issues or they may boycott the league.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Dr. Kyei shared his disappointment with the match's officiating. He also mentioned being assaulted by home fans during the game.

He reflected on past incidents, including the death of Asante Kotoko supporter Nana Pooley earlier this year. "We haven't learned anything from Nsoatre," he said.

Dr. Kyei stated, “I regret getting involved in Ghana football.” He added that he was unhappy with how things unfolded in Anyinase.

The Eagles entered the match as league leaders, needing four points to win the title. However, there has been no decision yet from the GFA regarding a replay or awarding points to Holy Stars for Nations FC's withdrawal.
