Dubois to fight Usyk at Wembley Stadium on 19 July

Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk will fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. The match is set for 19 July at Wembley Stadium.

Dubois, from Britain, is the IBF champion. Usyk holds the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC belts. Usyk remains undefeated in 23 fights. He defeated Dubois by an ninth-round stoppage in August 2023.

In May 2024, Usyk made history by beating Tyson Fury. He became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era. Before his rematch with Fury in December, Usyk vacated the IBF belt. This allowed Dubois to become IBF champion.

Dubois successfully defended his title against Anthony Joshua last September. He was scheduled to fight Joseph Parker in February but withdrew due to illness.

"This is the fight I wanted," said Dubois about facing Usyk again. "I should have won the first fight." He believes he will not make mistakes this time at Wembley.

No British boxer has held all heavyweight titles in the four-belt era. Lennox Lewis was the last Briton to be undisputed champion in 1999.

Usyk last fought in December, winning against Fury again. "I'm grateful for this opportunity," he said about fighting for the undisputed championship again.

Dubois gained fame after stopping Joshua at Wembley Stadium. He has transformed himself into a confident world champion after previous defeats.

Usyk has a reputation for breaking British hearts and aims to do it again with Dubois. Despite their age difference, Usyk remains a clear favorite due to his experience.

This fight represents a full-circle moment for Dubois after losing to Usyk nearly three years ago in Poland. There was controversy over a low blow during that match as well.

Few expected Dubois would be the one to challenge Usyk's reign; many thought it would be Fury instead. In July, on home turf, Dubois has a chance to claim victory and solidify his place atop heavyweight boxing.
