His departure comes exactly two years after Spurs announced his hiring from Celtic. The club stated that Postecoglou would be remembered for one of their greatest moments. He became only the third manager in Spurs history to win a European trophy.

However, they felt a change was necessary after reviewing performances. They emphasized that their decision was not based on emotions related to the recent triumph.
