EPL on Citi: Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest to seal Champions League Qualification

Chelsea secured their spot in the Champions League next season. Levi Colwill scored the winning goal against Nottingham Forest. This narrow victory also ended Forest's hopes of qualifying for Europe.

Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League under coach Enzo Maresca. They can now focus on their transfer targets based on next season's competition. The win also sets them up well for Wednesday’s Conference League final against Real Betis in Poland.

For Nottingham Forest, this was a disappointing end to the season. They survived relegation last year but finished seventh this time. Despite missing out on the top five, they consider their season a success.

Forest struggled in their final games, winning only two of eight. They will play in the Conference League after returning to the top flight three years ago. However, they ended the campaign without a home win in four matches.

The match started slowly and lacked excitement initially. Chelsea and Forest both had chances but could not convert them early on. Colwill finally broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half.

Despite efforts from Forest, they could not find an equalizer. Chris Wood missed a key chance late in stoppage time with a shot over the bar.
