Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has received an award from Southampton. He was named the Professional Footballer Association (PFA) Community Champion. This honor recognizes his contributions to society.
Sulemana won in the men's category. Meg Collett won the women's award for her efforts as well.
Sam Fulling, Managing Director of the Saints Foundation, praised both players. He noted their significant impact on the community. “Kamaldeen and Meg were standouts even with a strong group,” he said.
Sulemana recently completed his third season with Southampton. He joined from French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes.
In this season, Sulemana scored two goals and had three assists in 30 games. Unfortunately, Southampton was relegated from the English Premier League. They will compete in the English Championship next season.
Sulemana is attracting interest from FC Nantes in France's Ligue 1.
