Marcus Rashford's revival continued as Aston Villa defeated Brighton.
Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, scored his first two goals for Villa. This happened during their FA Cup quarter-final win against Preston North End on Sunday.
In the Premier League, Rashford scored for the first time with a calm finish. He found the net six minutes after halftime following a counter-attack from a Brighton corner.
Brighton thought they had equalized when Simon Adingra scored. However, the goal was disallowed due to Kaoru Mitoma's handball in the build-up.
Villa secured their victory 12 minutes before full-time. Marco Asensio, on loan from Paris St-Germain, scored after Morgan Rogers set him up.
In the final moments of 10 added minutes, Donyell Malen added a third goal for Villa. This was Malen's first goal for the club.
The result hurt Brighton's hopes for European qualification. Meanwhile, it keeps Villa in contention for a top-four finish. They have an upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace and a Champions League quarter-final against PSG.
