Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has confirmed that Marcus Rashford is injured. The Manchester United loanee may miss the rest of the season.
Rashford did not play in Aston Villa’s 3-0 FA Cup semifinal loss to Crystal Palace. He picked up the injury during training earlier in the week.
In Rashford's absence, Ollie Watkins led the team but struggled. Eberechi Eze scored one goal, and Ismaila Sarr added two more for Palace. They will face either Manchester City in the final.
After the match, Emery provided an update on Rashford's condition. “He is injured,” he said. “He got injured this week, and we did a test yesterday.”
“It is his hamstring,” Emery continued. “We will test him each match, but he probably won’t be available for several weeks.”
Rashford joined Villa in January after losing favor under Ruben Amorim. He has made an impact at Villa Park since then.
In 17 appearances for Aston Villa, he scored four goals and provided six assists. With only four games left this season, including a trip to Old Trafford, Rashford’s season may already be over.
