Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign a striker this summer. He noted that finding the right player is challenging.
Arsenal exited the Champions League semifinals against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. This marks five seasons without a trophy for the club. Arteta has been in charge since December 2019, and his only trophy is the 2020 FA Cup.
The team needs to strengthen its forward line to win more titles. Arteta emphasized, “Do I have to make it more clear?” He stated he wants the best players available. “If we have three goal scorers over 25, we’ll be much better,” he added.
When asked about acquiring a top striker, Arteta said it’s tough. He explained there aren’t many strikers with impressive stats in the Premier League.
Arteta acknowledged that context matters when discussing player acquisition. He admitted Arsenal has taken a step back this season. The points they’ve earned show they haven’t performed as well as last season.
Last year, Arsenal finished second with 89 points and scored 91 goals. Currently, they have 67 points and 64 goals ahead of their final three matches.
