Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II has urged Sports Minister Kofi Adams to prevent officials from selecting players for the Black Stars based on personal interests.
During Adams' visit to Manhyia Palace on February 14, Otumfuo attributed the team’s decline to nepotism within the Ghana Football Association.
He criticized the team’s poor performances, calling them “disgraceful,” and insisted that only deserving players should be invited.
Ghana has struggled in recent years, failing to progress in the last two AFCON tournaments and missing out on the 2025 edition.
Despite these setbacks, the Black Stars will return to action in March for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, hoping to revive their fortunes.
