Olympique Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah has suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
The 21-year-old injured his left knee during a match against Lille. This occurred in the seventh minute of Olympique Lyon’s 2-1 victory on April 5. Rayan Cherki replaced him after the injury.
Lyon has officially ruled Nuamah out for the rest of the season. They released a statement confirming his injury.
Nuamah is now the third Black Stars player to suffer an ACL injury this season. Fellow winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and defender Alidu Seidu have also been affected.
Fatawu Issahaku injured his knee during Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Angola in November 2024. This was part of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers in Luanda.
Alidu Seidu, who plays for Stade Rennes, suffered an ACL injury on November 25, 2024. He was injured during a Ligue match against Lille.
Both Issahaku and Seidu are also out for the entire 2024-2025 campaign.
Before his injury, Nuamah had six goals and two assists in 33 games across all competitions. He scored in Ghana’s impressive 5-0 win over Chad in World Cup qualifiers.
