Europa League Semifinals: Tottenham Hotspurs score win over Bodo/Glimt; set up all-English Final

Tottenham Hotspur will face Manchester United in the Europa League final. They defeated Bodo/Glimt to stay in the hunt for their first European title in 41 years.

Ange Postecoglou's team navigated a tricky semi-final second leg in Norway. This victory marks their sixth European final and first since 2019.

Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro scored in the second half. Their goals secured a 5-1 aggregate win, setting up an all-English showdown with United on May 21 in Bilbao.

Spurs last won a trophy in 2008, with their last European title in 1984. Postecoglou had claimed he always wins silverware in his second season at a club. His statement faced mockery as Tottenham struggled at 16th place in the Premier League.

Now, they are one game away from ending their trophy drought despite a poor domestic season. They achieved this without injured players James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, and Heung-min Son.

Bodo/Glimt made history by reaching their first European semi-final. The first-leg win of 3-1 gave Spurs an advantage going into the return match. They expertly managed the game, limiting Bodo’s chances on the artificial pitch.

Bodo needed an early goal but failed to score. Guglielmo Vicario saved Patrick Berg's free kick attempt. The first half was tightly contested, but Tottenham controlled the second half well.

Full-back Destiny Udogie stopped Kasper Hogh from scoring. Solanke extended Tottenham's lead after 63 minutes with a close-range goal from Cristian Romero's knockdown.

Six minutes later, Porro’s cross hit the post and went in, ending Bodo’s hopes. The Norwegian side had an injury-time penalty overturned by VAR.
