Everton, Liverpool and Slot charged after derby melee

Arne Slot Arne Slot

Everton, Liverpool, and manager Arne Slot have been charged by the FA following chaotic scenes at the end of Wednesday's Merseyside derby.

Both clubs face charges for failing to control their players, while Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff are accused of improper conduct toward referee Michael Oliver, leading to their red cards.

The incident erupted after Everton's James Tarkowski scored a 98th-minute equalizer, which Liverpool contested due to an alleged foul in the buildup.

Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure clashed after the final whistle, earning second yellow cards.

Slot admitted emotions got the better of him but is expected to be on the touchline for Liverpool's match against Wolves. All parties have until February 19 to respond to the charges.
