Everton are preparing to sign Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah in the January transfer window, making him the first acquisition under their new owners, The Friedkin Group.
The 21-year-old, who was close to joining Fulham last summer, has had an inconsistent season at French club Olympique Lyonnais, scoring only once in 16 appearances. Lyon, facing provisional relegation due to financial issues, needs to offload players, with Nuamah reportedly among those set to leave.
Everton, struggling this season, recently sacked manager Sean Dyche, and are expected to appoint David Moyes, who previously managed Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus. Nuamah’s move to Everton could offer the winger a fresh start in the Premier League amid Lyon’s financial crisis.
