Asamoah Gyan, former Black Stars striker, has blamed unnamed "evil people" for Ghana's failure to win any major trophies since their last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) victory in 1982.
Despite reaching the finals three times (1992, 2010, and 2015), the national team has struggled.
During an Instagram Live session on January 2, 2025, Gyan expressed frustration, stating that these individuals have tarnished the country's reputation, preventing the team from achieving success.
Gyan, Ghana's all-time leading goal scorer, also represented the Black Stars in three World Cups (2006, 2010, and 2014). Notably, Ghana will miss the 2025 AFCON, which will be hosted in Morocco, marking their absence after two decades.
