FA Cup: My plan of avoiding penalty shootout against Berekum Chelsea succeeded - Kotoko coach Karim Zito

Asante Kotoko's head coach, Karim Zito, shared his strategy for the FA Cup semifinal. His plan was to avoid a penalty shootout against Berekum Chelsea. This approach led to a 1-0 victory for his team.

Albert Amoah scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute. Zito aimed to win within 90 minutes to avoid penalties. He stated, "With the FA Cup, you don't have two options."

Zito focused on defense while looking for scoring opportunities. He said, "I was very cautious at the back and tried to score occasionally." This strategy proved successful as Kotoko won the match.

Reflecting on his plan, Zito said, "I succeeded in executing it." Kotoko's victory secures their place in the final against Golden Kick. The final will take place on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Zito and his team are eager to secure their 10th FA Cup title and make history.
