FC Basel loan Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Essiam to FC Aarau

FC Basel has loaned Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Essiam to Swiss second-tier side FC Aarau for the remainder of the season. The 21-year-old has struggled to break into Basel's first team due to injuries.

The loan move to Aarau will offer him valuable playing time, as there is no option to buy and he is contracted with Basel until 2028.

Essiam, who joined Basel in 2022, was previously loaned to Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy for the 2023-2024 season.

Aarau's sports director, Elsad Zverotic, praised Essiam's dynamic and strong qualities, noting his ability to strengthen the team’s midfield following Milot Avdyli's departure.
