The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) swiftly approved a proposal from Lega Serie A to introduce a special transfer window in June 2025, accommodating the unusual timing of the expanded Club World Cup.
This tournament, running from June to mid-July, poses logistical challenges as many players’ contracts or loan agreements will expire mid-competition.
The proposed mini-window, open from June 1-10, 2025, will allow all Serie A clubs—not just participants like Inter and Juventus—to register players before the usual July transfer period.
While FIFA supports this adjustment, details on handling expiring contracts and loan deals are still under discussion. This move is seen as a proactive step to ensure squad stability for Italian clubs during the global tournament.
