Fabio Capello: Vini Jr and Mbappe partnership is ‘not working’

Fabio Capello, former Real Madrid boss, has expressed disappointment with Kylian Mbappe’s first season at the club, despite his impressive goal tally of 28 goals in 41 games for 2024/25.

After joining on a free transfer from PSG, Mbappe faced challenges fitting into Real Madrid's system alongside Vinicius Junior, who plays in a similar position.

While both players have excelled individually, Capello believes they are not harmonizing well as a pair, stepping on each other's toes.

He also highlighted Real Madrid's broader issues, including a weakened midfield after Toni Kroos's departure and defensive struggles due to injuries, impacting their overall team dynamics.
