Fiorentina's Edoardo Bove thank fans after on-pitch collapse, says he's doing 'fine'

Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove, 22, expressed gratitude to fans and confirmed he is "fine" after collapsing during a Serie A match on December 1,2024.

Following surgery to implant a defibrillator, Bove was discharged from a Florence hospital and returned to training.

On Instagram, he wrote, "The unpleasant episode... proved to me that football is much more than a match, a championship or a career."

He thanked fans for their "affection and closeness," adding, "I felt surrounded by a positive energy that allowed me to remain calm."

Bove also urged others to remember football's "true essence" and vowed, "See you soon... on the pitch!" However, he won't be able to play in Italy with a defibrillator.
