Barcelona secured a 1-0 win over Deportivo Alaves, with Robert Lewandowski scoring the only goal in the 61st minute.
The victory brought Barcelona within four points of LaLiga leaders Real Madrid, who were defeated by Espanyol. Barcelona remain unbeaten in their last three games, but the match was challenging, as they registered just 0.95 expected goals from 11 shots.
Coach Hansi Flick emphasized the importance of continuing to win to apply pressure on Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, who sit ahead of them. Lewandowski’s goal marked his 60th in 90 LaLiga appearances, and 17-year-old Lamine Yamal impressed with his dribbling and duels. Gavi was taken off after a head clash but is not seriously injured.
