Oliver Kahn, former goalkeeper for FC Bayern and Germany, has confirmed he is in talks to buy financially struggling French club Girondins de Bordeaux.
The discussions are still in early stages, and Kahn has declined to provide further details. Bordeaux, relegated to France's fourth tier last summer due to financial issues, has seen growing interest from Kahn. Bordeaux's vice-president, Arnaud de Carli, confirmed that Kahn is in contact with club president Gerard Lopez, but it's unclear what financial backing or investors Kahn may bring.
De Carli noted that while they attempted to gather more information about the funding, it is typical for details to remain undisclosed at this point in the process.
