Former Ghana international Sam Johnson has urged Greece-based defender Baba Rahman to retire from the Black Stars, citing the criticism he has faced from Ghanaians.
Despite Rahman's stellar performances for PAOK, including three goals in 10 Greek Super League games and two goals in the Europa League, Johnson believes returning to the national team is unnecessary.
Speaking to *Pan-Africa Football*, Johnson stated, “He has suffered a lot from Ghanaians, and if I were him, I wouldn’t return. He has faced harsh criticism when his performances didn’t meet expectations.”
Rahman, a former Chelsea player, has not featured for the Black Stars since withdrawing from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. His recent form has reignited calls for his return, but Johnson insists the defender should focus solely on his club career.
