Former NFL star to set up sports academy in Ghana

Former NFL player Isaiah Stanback is in Ghana. He is exploring the idea of a sports academy. This academy would train Ghanaian youth in soccer, American football, and basketball.

During his four-day visit, he spoke to journalists in Accra. Mr. Stanback noted that Ghana has immense talent. He believes it is important to showcase this talent globally.

His goal is to learn about the local sports community. He wants to use his expertise to help the youth. "There are many kids here with talent," he said.

He emphasized the need for programs that add value and development. Many children in Ghana already understand soccer, he added. These skills can also apply to American football and other sports.

Mr. Stanback mentioned that Ghana's leadership supports sports development. He aims to create a plan for establishing the academy. His vision includes bringing top-level expertise to nurture local talent.

Isaiah Stanback is a Super Bowl champion (XLVI). He played for the Cowboys, New England Patriots, and Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.
