Former Nsoatreman FC General Manager Eric Alagidede has called for Ghanaian football administrators to address fundamental issues affecting the Ghana Premier League, citing dishonesty as a key problem.
Speaking on Sporty FM, he criticized officials for creating unnecessary controversies that fuel chaos, referencing the tragic death of Kotoko fan Nana Pooley.
Alagidede also highlighted the league’s financial struggles, pointing out the lack of sponsorship, TV rights, and investment compared to leagues in Tanzania and elsewhere.
He argued that club owners are bearing the financial burden alone and stressed that discussions should focus on financial sustainability rather than just hooliganism.
He believes proper funding would help clubs retain talent by offering competitive salaries, rather than losing players to lower-tier leagues abroad.
