Four Ghana Premier League players earn Black Stars call-up for 2025 Unity Cup

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has announced his squad for the 2025 Unity Cup.

There is excitement about four standout players from the Ghana Premier League: Kamaradini Mamudu, Razak Simpson, Benjamin Asare, and Kwame Poku.

Their selection shows renewed confidence in home-based talent. It also highlights the importance of the Ghana Premier League for future Black Stars.

Kamaradini Mamudu plays as a right-back for Medeama SC. He has been sensational this season, scoring 8 goals from defense. His attacking flair and defensive skills make him the best in his position.

Razak Simpson is the captain of Nations FC and joins the defense. He is a calm centre-back who leads by example. His leadership and aerial skills will strengthen the Black Stars.

Benjamin Asare is an experienced goalkeeper from Hearts of Oak. The 32-year-old was Ghana’s first-choice keeper in recent World Cup qualifiers. He kept clean sheets against Chad and Madagascar with sharp reflexes.

Kwame Poku returns to the national team after impressive form at Asante Kotoko. Since rejoining in January, he has scored 9 goals in 16 matches. This resurgence makes him one of the most dangerous attackers in the league.

Ghana will start their Unity Cup campaign against Nigeria on May 28 in London. The inclusion of these four players sends a strong message about local talent's value.

Their performances may inspire more call-ups from domestic leagues, showing that local excellence is rewarded at high levels.
