Friedkin Group completes Everton takeover

The Friedkin Group has completed its £400m takeover of Everton, acquiring 99.5% of the club from Farhad Moshiri.

This marks the end of Moshiri's tumultuous ownership, which saw eight managers and relegation battles. The Texas-based Friedkin Group, led by Dan Friedkin, also owns AS Roma.

Friedkin and his team, including Marc Watts as executive chairman, aim to stabilize Everton and foster long-term success, focusing on strengthening the men’s team, developing youth, and enhancing the women's team.

The group also intends to maximize the potential of Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The deal follows a complex series of negotiations, with Moshiri's tenure marked by financial instability and protests from fans.
