GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku arrived in Kumasi on Thursday to visit Asante Kotoko and the family of deceased fan Nana Frimpong, known as 'Pooley.' His visit aims to show solidarity with Kotoko and discuss security improvements following Pooley’s tragic death during a match against Nsoatreman FC.
He will meet Kotoko’s leadership at 13:00 GMT before visiting Pooley’s family. He also plans to hold closed-door meetings with key figures in Kumasi.
This visit follows a joint statement from Kotoko and Hearts of Oak demanding enhanced security measures.
Okraku has been engaging stakeholders, including Premier League clubs, match commissioners, and supporters, to strengthen matchday security and prevent future incidents.
