The Ghana Football Association (GFA) clarified that Nora Hauptle's departure as head coach of the Black Queens was due to a disagreement over her remuneration, not the lack of friendly matches.
Hauptle, who guided Ghana to qualify for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), expressed concerns about insufficient match preparation, particularly highlighting the absence of friendly games.
However, GFA spokesperson Henry Asante Twum explained that the lack of friendly matches was not the reason for her exit, citing a dispute over salary.
Twum mentioned that the GFA had organized several friendlies, including matches against Benin, Senegal, and Japan.
A replacement for Hauptle will be announced as the Black Queens continue their preparations for WAFCON.
