Ghana Football Association Ghana Football Association

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) condemned the violence during the February 2, 2025, Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at Nana Kronamansah Park.

The game was interrupted in the second half when Nsoatreman supporters threw objects at Kotoko’s bench, leading to a confrontation on the field, where Kotoko captain Justice Blay threw an object at the fans.

The situation escalated into a physical fight, and tragically, a Kotoko fan was stabbed to death. The GFA decried the events as unacceptable and banned Nsoatreman FC's home venue indefinitely for safety reasons. Investigations will continue, and the GFA emphasized the need to protect the integrity of the game.
