The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has clarified that the $260,000 received from FIFA was for improving playing infrastructure, not maintaining national stadia.
Although the Tamale Sports Stadium benefited from the project, the funds were part of the GFA Borehole Project, which focused on installing boreholes and water tanks to improve grass maintenance at 80 match venues.
This was aimed at meeting minimum club licensing requirements, not stadium upkeep.
The GFA emphasized that the project was publicly approved and did not include national stadium maintenance, addressing confusion raised by a recent JoySports publication.
