Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has opposed calls to extend the suspension of the Ghana Premier League following the tragic murder of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley.

Nana Pooley was fatally stabbed in Nsoatre during Kotoko’s Week 19 match against Nsoatreman FC. In response, the Ghana FA suspended all Week 20 games to engage stakeholders and address the violence.

Speaking to Akoma FM, Nana Oduro Sarfo argued that football should not be halted entirely, emphasizing the need to adhere to the league calendar.

He stated that the incident was a criminal act, not a football-related issue. Instead of suspending matches, he called for stricter regulations to prevent future violence in Ghanaian football.
