Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has confirmed that Otto Addo’s retention as Black Stars head coach will be reviewed.
Addo, who signed a three-year contract in March 2024, has faced criticism after Ghana failed to qualify for AFCON 2025 for the first time in 20 years.
Despite calls for a coaching overhaul, the GFA retained Addo but made key technical additions, including Winfried Schäfer as technical advisor. Desmond Ofei, John Paintsil, and Fatau Dauda also joined the setup.
However, Adams insists that since the government funds the national team, it must be involved in major coaching decisions.
He criticized the GFA for appointing Addo without state consultation. With AFCON out of reach, Ghana now shifts focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
