Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association, has good news. A new television partner for the Ghana Premier League will be announced soon.
This comes after the GFA ended its deal with StarTimes. The Chinese broadcaster reportedly owes $950,000 to the association.
The contract expired at the end of the 2023/24 football season. This left both the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup without a broadcaster.
“We have ended our partnership with StarTimes,” Kurt said in an interview with GhOne TV. “They owe GFA $950,000.”
Kurt believes that the Premier League is interesting enough to attract new partners. He confirmed that a new partner will be announced soon.
Reports suggest that South African broadcasting giant SuperSport may become the new rights holder for Ghana’s top-flight competition.
