Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, announced a $100,000 investment in Colts football. This is part of efforts to revive grassroots football development. He made the announcement during the unveiling of vehicles for Regional Football Associations.
The funds will supply footballs and support Colts teams across the country. Okraku also mentioned an additional $100,000 for Division Two, Division Three, and Women’s League clubs.
He stated, “We’ve decided to invest $100,000 in Colts football for essential support.” The GFA aims to make football more accessible at all levels. This aligns with the FIFA Forward Program, which strengthens global football through funding.
The announcement comes amid criticism of the GFA's neglect of grassroots football. The Colts system has been a key foundation for talent in Ghana. With this investment, the GFA hopes to enhance youth development and restore the Colts system as a reliable source for future stars.
