Albert Amoah scored a penalty with six minutes left. This goal secured a point for Asante Kotoko against Bechem United. The match took place at Baba Yara Stadium in the Ghana Premier League.
Bechem United had lost three of their last four matches. Surprisingly, they took the lead against Kotoko. Darlvin Yeboah scored for Bechem around the hour mark.
Kotoko applied relentless pressure throughout the game. Their efforts paid off when they were awarded a penalty. Amoah converted the spot kick in the 84th minute.
Kotoko now has 47 points but lost their lead in the standings. They remain on top due to a better goal difference than Bibiani Gold Stars, who are second.
The Porcupines will face Accra Lions in their next match. Meanwhile, Bechem United is seventh and will play Gold Stars next. They hope to improve their form in that game.
