GPL 2024/25: FC Samartex thrash Basake Holy Stars at Nsenkyire Sports Arena

Emmanuel Mamah scored twice for Samartex in a 3-0 win over Basake Holy Stars. The match took place on Sunday at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

From the start, Samartex looked more composed. They controlled possession and created chances early on.

Their pressure paid off in the 17th minute. Baba Hamadu Musa scored after receiving a clever through ball. He calmly slotted it past the Holy Stars goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.

Samartex doubled their advantage just eleven minutes later. Mamah, a constant threat, cut inside and finished clinically in the 28th minute to make it 2-0.

Holy Stars struggled against Samartex’s intensity. They failed to create any meaningful opportunities for a comeback.

After halftime, Samartex continued to dominate. Mamah completed his brace in the 71st minute with great composure inside the box. His second goal effectively ended the contest.

This victory secured a comfortable afternoon for the hosts. Christopher Ennin's team is now unbeaten in five matches and sits five points below the top four.

The win moved Samartex to seventh place with 45 points, solidifying their position in the top half of the league table.

For Holy Stars, their away record remains poor. They have only earned 5 points from 14 away matches and are winless in their last 12 away games.
