GPL 2024/25: Late comeback sees Accra Lions beat Basake Holy Stars

Accra Lions made a late comeback to defeat Basake Holy Stars. This match took place on Saturday, April 12, during matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League.

Prince Tweneboah scored first for Holy Stars just five minutes in. They maintained their lead and went into halftime ahead.

In the second half, Holy Stars continued to create chances but couldn't score again. With 20 minutes left, Accra Lions began to find their rhythm.

Hamzata Musah equalized in the 72nd minute. Lucky Nwafor then scored six minutes later to complete the comeback.

This victory allowed Accra Lions to avoid losing both matches against Holy Stars this season. They had previously lost their earlier encounter.

The win also lifted Accra Lions out of the relegation zone. They are now just one point above the danger area before Sunday’s fixtures.
